Tasting Notes

The 2021 Hayfork Lewelling Ranch Cabernet presents a marvelous brightness of fruit with notes of black cherry and rose petal. Sweet spice and leather provide depth together with an effortless textural balance. This wine is lovely now and will evolve gracefully with cellaring.

Food Pairing

Pairs well with hard aged cheeses, spicy lamb stew or a blue cheese burger.

Tech Details

The Lewelling Ranch is located on an alluvial fan at the base of St. Helena’s western hills at the base of the Mayacamas range. Soils consisting of cobble, creek wash, and gravelly sand - known as Cortina.  

Aged for 22 months in 75% new French oak barrels.
