The 2020 Wight Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is both elegant and forthright. This wine is laden with cassis and spice, and is bolstered by an energetic opulence and generous mid-palate tannins. The enticing 2020 Wight Vineyard wine may surprise you.

Tech Details

  • Site: 1/2 mile south of St. Helena on Lewelling Lane. The Lewelling Ranch is located on an alluvial fan at the base of St. Helena’s western hills at the base of the Mayacamas range. 
  • Soil: Soils consisting of cobble, creek wash, and gravelly sand - known as Cortina.
  • Vines: Vines Cabernet Sauvignon on 110R rootstock. 5' x 9' vine spacing, cane pruned. 
  • Weather: In 2020 a beautiful growing season ended in a ferocious fire season for the Napa Valley. Thankfully, when the Glass Fire that affected St. Helena started, our grapes were picked and our fermentations were well underway at the winery, and we were able to tend to the wines throughout the traumatic event. Our warm location in St. Helena and early ripening saved the vintage.

  • Aging: 21 months in 90% new French oak.
  • Bottling Date: Bottled unfined and filtered in June 2022
  • Sustainability: Integration of certified Organic manure-based compost, annual cover crops, deficit irrigation practices, 200 acres of forest left wild for wildlife habitat. Fish Friendly Farming is a Sustainable certification program for agricultural properties managed to restore fish and wildlife habitat and improve water quality.
