CantoSur is a tribute to the Bouchon family’s new roots in Chile. This blend echoes Chile’s historic and signature varietals, blending Carmenere, Carignan and old vine Pais.

Aromas of Mediterranean herbs, violet and red fruit on the nose lead to great acidity and juiciness on the palate. Finish is lively and the perfect balance of freshness and rusticity.

First made in 2015, Canto Sur remains as innovative now as it was then. Produced from Carmenère with 25% each of Carignan and País, it's a sappy, unwooded, partially whole bunch fermented cuvée with plum, red cherry and green herb flavours and a focused, refreshing finish. 2022-26 Tim Atkin 2022

The 2021 Red Blend Canto Sur is a blend of 50% Carmenere, 25% Carignan, 25% Pais from Maule, made in a cool year. Rich purple in color. The nose presents gentle notes of plum, sour cherry and bay leaf. In the mouth, this is smooth with precise tannins, a fairly juicy flow and a fresh core that stretches out the vibrant, fruity finish. Vinous June 2022

Tech Details

Harvested from the Mingre Vineyard in the Maule Valley, which has a dry, coastal climate and soil composed of red granite with high iron oxidation and high amounts of minerals such as quartz. The grapes are hand-harvested with cluster selection and the wine is aged in concrete tanks for 6 months.
